Our Smiles

Hi! My name is Diane Crooks. I graduated with my dental hygiene degree in 1982 from Wichita State University. My wonderful husband, Leland, and I live in Parsons and have two awesome children. Our daughter, Courtney, graduated in May of 2008 from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and our son, Sam, is attending college in Kansas City. I enjoy my profession very much and am pleased to have been associated with Dr. Finley’s dental practice since November, 1997. The most challenging and rewarding aspect of being a dental hygienist is helping to transform patients who are on the verge of losing their teeth due to periodontal (gum) disease to a disease-free, healthy state. It gives me great personal and professional satisfaction to know that I have contributed to someone’s quality of life by helping him or her keep their teeth.

KEEP FLOSSING !

Hello, my name is Doris Sweeney. I am the new kid on the block in
Dr. Finley’s office. I have had years of administrative experience, but not in a dental office (until now). Dr. Finley has been a friend as well as my dentist since 1983. I really enjoy coming to work each day. Everyone in this office is part of the team and we have a great time working together. Interacting with our patients and their families is a bonus of my job.

I was born and raised in Kentucky and love my family, animals, flowers and crafts. I have worked in the health care field since 1989. Following my husband, Dan (aka Dr. Dirt), while he earned his Master’s and PHD degrees meant moves to West Lafayette, IN (Purdue) and Gainesville, FL (University of Florida.) He is a full professor with Kansas State University and does research at the SEK Ag Research Center. I have 3 awesome kids: 2 daughters, Shannon lives in Olathe and works for a website company; Kelly is a pediatrician serving as Chief Resident in Pensacola, FL., but will be moving back to KS next summer; and my son, Kevin, is in Pittsburg in graduate school. My other ‘kid,’ Scooter, is a 4-yr. old rescued Maine Coon cat that keeps Dan and I entertained.

So come in to say hello and visit our down-home friendly office.

I have worked as a chairside assistant (amongst other duties) for Dr. Finley since August of 1991.  Some of my other responsibilities include helping in the business office, being the OSHA coordinator, ordering supplies and training new employees.

I consider myself fortunate to have a job that is challenging, rewarding, and gives me the opportunity to meet many people, hopefully making a healthy difference in their lives.

I am married with three grown daughters.  In my spare time, I keep busy with church activities, gardening, quilting and other family functions.

I live in the big town of Cherokee, Kansas and have worked with Dr. Finley since I obtained my dental hygiene degree from
Missouri Southern State University in May, 2000.  I’m married and have a son who is attending Pittsburg State University and a daughter who has graduated from there.  Before I received my hygiene degree, chairside assisting was my passion.  I worked in that capacity for approximately eleven years and have greatly benefited from that experience.  Personally, I find it very rewarding to be able to help individuals overcome or prevent dental disease and improve their quality of life.

Hi, My name is Beth Swanwick. I recently moved from Wann, Oklahoma to Parsons with my son, Logan. I am the newest staff member and am enjoying being a part of Dr. Finley's team. My responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of patient care and helping in the business office when needed. I'm looking forward to many years of service to our patients, so please accept my invitation to come by and get acquainted.
